SSC Stenographer 2016 Notification: Grade C & D Recruitment

 

Name of the Post / Vacancy: Stenographer Grade ‘C’ (Group ‘B’ Non-Gazetted) & Stenographer Grade ‘D’ (Group ‘C’ Non-Gazetted)

Last Date: 3rd June, 2016 (Upto 5 PM)

Date of Exam: 31st July, 2016

Eligibility Criteria (as on 1st August, 2016): 12th standard pass from a recognized board or university

Age (as on 1st August, 2016): 18 to 27 years (Only those born not before 2nd August, 1989 and not later than 1st August, 1998 are eligible to apply)

Number of Vacancies: To be determined in due course of time. Once the number is finalized, it will be displayed on SSC’s website.

NOTE – Vacancies of Stenographer Grade ‘C’ and Stenographers Grade ‘D’ are in Ministries/Departments of Central Government, including their Attached/Subordinate offices located in States & Union Territories all over India

Application Fee: Rs. 100/- only

NOTE – Fee is exempted for all Women candidates and candidates belonging to Scheduled Caste, Scheduled Tribe, Physically Handicapped, and Ex-Servicemen eligible for reservation, as per Government orders.

How to Apply: Candidates will have to apply online by logging onto www.ssconline.nic.in

Fee Payment: Fee must be paid online through SBI Challan / Net banking or any credit card / debit card.

Selection Procedure: The Examination will comprise a Written Objective Type Examination followed by Skill Test in Stenography at 100 w.p.m. and 80 w.p.m. for Stenographer Grade ‘C’ &’D’ respectively.

Written Exam: The duration of the objective exam is 2 Hours. The pattern is as follows:-

  1. General Intelligence & Reasoning – 50 Marks (50 Questions)
  2. General Awareness – 50 Marks (50 Questions)
  3. English Language – 100 Marks (100 Questions)

Skill test in Stenography: Only those who obtain qualifying marks in the written exam as may be prescribed by SSC will be called for this test. The skill test will be qualifying in nature. The matter will have to be transcribed on computer only. The evaluation of transcription will be done electronically only. The transcription time is as follows:-

For Stenographer Grade ‘D’: 50 minutes (English) & 65 minutes (Hindi)

For Stenographer Grade ‘C’: 40 minutes (English) & 55 Minutes (Hindi)

NOTE – (I) Candidates should bring 3 passport size colored photographs (II) Candidates not carrying photographs won’t be allowed to appear in the written exam. (III) There will be negative marking of 0.25 marks for each wrong answer.
